The Ministry of Health and Welfare revised the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines this year, introducing a Chronic Disease Care Program where enrolled patients can receive medical services through telecommunication. On the first day of implementation, Director Lin Zhiqing from the Department of Internal Medicine, Director Peng Jiaxun from the Department of Medical Enterprises, Nurse Chen Peiying, and an IT engineer jointly conducted a video consultation for a peritoneal dialysis patient. They provided virtual medical consultation for a patient with poor healing of wounds on the toes and difficulty in mobility due to blisters on the soles. The consultation was conducted securely through the Health Insurance FastPass App, where patients authorized the hospital using a virtual health insurance card to provide medical services via video. Prescriptions, examinations, and laboratory tests were issued seamlessly through telemedicine, reflecting the hospital's commitment to convenient healthcare and personalized service. This initiative has been highly successful, earning positive feedback from patients.
