Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology

Introduction to Musculoskeletal Radiology

Previous department directors:

Zhang Zhengyan :(1985 to 2005)
Important achievements :
Domestic knee patella axial and standing whole lower limb photography, shoulder joint double contrast photography to evaluate shoulder rotator tendon rupture, adhesive frozen shoulder arthritis, and computed tomography double contrast shoulder joint photography To evaluate the pathological changes of shoulder joint dislocation, etc., and promote it for clinical application and research. Actively develop computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging examinations of the skeletal, joint and muscular systems. Early efforts were made to introduce and promote bone density measurement examinations as a service for the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal and elderly female patients.
Qiu Hongren: (2005~2016.02)
Important achievements:
Since 1992, he has specialized in the application of high-resolution ultrasound in the musculoskeletal system, established high-accuracy data on shoulder joint lesions, and wrist joint lesions, and promoted this technology to National Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Medicine Community. In 1994, he began to study color Doppler ultrasound in glaucoma, and used this technology to diagnose and track changes in carotid artery to cavernous fistula lesions, and achieved good results. Since 1995, we have begun to use high-resolution ultrasound in the diagnosis of peripheral soft tissue tumors and use ultrasound guidance for tissue slices, and have successfully replaced most surgical slices and computed tomography-guided slices. Later, color Doppler ultrasound was used to scan soft tissue tumors, and a fairly accurate preoperative diagnosis was obtained. In 1996, he began to study the application of other invasive ultrasound in the musculoskeletal system and achieved quite good results. In 2000, he received a grant from the National Science Council to complete the "Calcific Tendinitis of the Rotary Band: Evaluation and Treatment with High-Resolution Ultrasound and Color Doppler Ultrasound" program, which has been published in a well-known ultrasound medical journal and has been used in Clinical treatment. In 2001, he received funding from the Taipei Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics to carry out the "Ultrasound Contrast Agent Diagnosis and Treatment Tracking of Soft Tissue Sarcomas" project and the "Comparison of Ultrasound-Guided Slice Sizes and Pathological Slice Results of Removed Specimens" to provide future slice needle sizes. basis for selection. In 2002, he received a subsidy from the Taipei General Hospital to "evaluate the effectiveness of ultrasound-guided percutaneous radiofrequency electrocautery in the treatment of recurrent soft tissue sarcoma." In 2003 and 2004, he received a grant from the National Science Council on "Differential Diagnosis of Malignant and Benign Soft Tissue Tumors: Assessment and the Role of Gray Scale, Color Duppler and Three-Dimensional Energy Ultrasound". In 2004, he presented "Diagnosis of Soft Tissue Masses: The Role of High-Resolution Ultrasonography" at the RSNA Annual Meeting and won the "Certificate of Merit" award.

Ng Hong Tat: (2016.03~2023)

Chung_Jung Lin: (2024~Nosw)

Important achievements:

  1. Director Zhang Zhengyan successfully completed shoulder arthrography in 1978 (the 67th year of the Republic of China).
  2. Since 1985 (the seventy-fourth year of the Republic of China), orthopedics has developed from traditional general examination to double-contrast arthrography, computed tomography of shoulder joint photography (CT Arthrography of shoulder) and CT-guided biological examination of spinal lesions, as well as musculoskeletal examination. Breakthrough technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging have brought diagnosis from indirect to direct and accurate diagnosis. These are of international standard, thereby promoting our hospital's skeletal radiology to a more advanced and leading position.
  3. Since 1992, he has specialized in the application of high-resolution ultrasound in the musculoskeletal system, established highly accurate data on shoulder joint lesions, and wrist joint lesions, and promoted this technology to the national orthopedics and rehabilitation medicine community. And has been recognized and awarded by relevant medical associations at home and abroad.
