◎Important matters, please help inform parents◎

Your baby is screened for congenital metabolic abnormalities in newborns, and the screening result of "Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency" is suspected positive, so it is very likely to suffer from such diseases. If the time of diagnosis and treatment is delayed, it may be harmful The baby has serious adverse effects and further tests are necessary to confirm the diagnosis. In order to protect your baby's health, please take your baby to one of the referral hospitals designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare: Taipei Veterans General Hospital for a confirmation examination as soon as possible. Before confirming that your baby's "faba bean disease" is normal, please absolutely avoid the following:

Please do not let your baby come into contact with moth balls.

If the baby has a wound. Never apply purple potion.

Do not take medicine at will; when you seek medical treatment for any disease, please inform the doctor: the baby is suspected of suffering from "faba bean disease", please ask the doctor to take the medicine carefully.

Patients with favism cannot eat broad beans or processed products of broad beans.

One week before the visit, please call to inform the baby's return visit time, so that relevant information can be compiled and sent to the doctor.

Registration location: Registration Office on 1F of the Third Outpatient Clinic Building for first-visit registration, please fill in the first-visit registration form first, and then take the appointment registration form to the consultation location for doctor consultation.

Documents to carry: a. Health insurance cards of the baby and parents b. Baby health handbook

Filling in the first visit registration form: if the baby has his own health insurance card, please fill in the baby's name; if the baby uses the mother's health insurance card, please fill in the name of the mother's boy or daughter, do not just fill in the name of the father or mother.

Favism is a sex-linked genetic disease. Parents are advised to undergo the examination together. Parents are requested to register individually when registering, and to go to the same doctor for outpatient consultation.

After completing the registration, please go to the Nursing Station on the 3F of the Lakeside Outpatient Clinic to measure your height and weight, and then report to the doctor's clinic. Please inform the nurse in the clinic that the purpose of the visit is "to make a diagnosis of favism".
