The items in charged by the Division of Clinical Research:

(1) The development of collaboration between hospital and other academic/ research institutions in matters relating to clinical research of the hospital.

(2) The research strategy and planning, research funding and implementation, and the collection and reporting of results in matters relating to clinical research of the hospital.

(3) The project funding and management of the clinical research grants supported by the hospital and by other organizations outside the hospital.

(4 ) Assisting the management, applications, security and other matters of the joint clinical research laboratory (open to the clinical staffs) in the hospital.

(5) Assisting the clinical research work and R & D-related items in the clinical departments of the hospital.

(6) Assisting the research and technology transfer, patent maintenance, and the cooperation of industry and hospital.

(7) Other tasks assigned by the authority of hospital.

History：
In Nov. 2013, in response to the reorganization of the Executive Yuan, Department of Medical Research as one of the independent medical units was spin out from the former Department of Medical Education and Research. There are three divisions under the Medical Research department, namely Division of Basic Research, Division of Translational Research and Division of Clinical Research. The current chief of Division of Clinical Research is Prof. Jaw-Wen Chen. In the Division of Clinical Research, there are staffs of 18 people, manage administrative operations, Clinical Research Core Laboratory, Washing Room, Medical Information Room, Vascular Biology and Vascular Medicine Laboratory, Integrated Brain Research Group, Mental Images Laboratory, Gastrointestinal Cancer Laboratory.  In addition, there are special stem cell researchers and laboratory, Stem Cell Research III Laboratory, Neurophysiology Laboratory.
 

Organization & Staff：

The Division’s Chief is Jaw-Wen Chen. There are 4 Doctors, and 14 staffs, including Medical Technicians、Administration staffs, and Janitors.
