Achievements of research and development at Taipei Veterans General Hospital

Research publications

In the past ten years, colleagues in Taipei Veterans General Hospital have published a substantial number of papers enlisted in the "Science Citation Index" (SCI) with high impact factor (IF). Last year, the number of published paper reached nearly 1,500, and the average IF value is 6.43 (Fig.1).

Industry-hospital program and patent

Taipei Veterans General Hospital continues its effort in cooperation projects with industrial, governmental, academic, and research institutes. From 2018 to 2022, the revenue from industry-hospital program has reached 172 cases (Fig. 2). Within the same period of time, Taipei Veterans General Hospital also has total 89 patent applications and 86 patient certification (Fig.3). Furthermore, Taipei Veterans General Hospital has multiple successful transfer cases of cutting-edge medical technologies, such as cancer treatment, new drug, stem cell, regenerative technology, medical device, cancer medical information system, artificial intelligence (AI) diagnosis, nutrient solution, pharmacy service system, and etc...

Clinical Trials

Taipei Veterans General Hospital is also a qualified center for clinical trials. General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) of Taipei Veterans General Hospital was established in 2002. There are over 180 new clinical trials each year in year 2021 & 2022 (Fig. 4). Also, the number of early clinical trials increased yearly (Table 1).
