| one. | The Taipei Veterans General Hospital Library (hereinafter referred to as the library) has formulated the "Taipei Veterans General Hospital Library Handling Regulations for Donated Books and Periodicals" in order to effectively process donated materials. |
| two. | Donated books and materials: refers to books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, electronic media and other publications and network resources. |
| three. | How to accept gifts: (1) Readers can contact the organizers of the library by telephone or send them to the editorial office of the library. (2) The museum is unable to provide services such as home packing and handling. |
| Four. | The library accepts all types of books and periodicals that are beneficial to the development of medical teaching and research as a principle, except for the following situations, which may be declined politely: (1) Materials that violate the provisions of the Copyright Law or pirated copies. (2) The content is out of date and has no academic and reference value. (3) It is difficult for the museum to implement the donor's request. (4) Sets of books or periodicals that are too damaged to be used by users or are incomplete. (5) There are lines, notes, and eyebrows inside. (6) Those who already have copies in this library. (7) Those whose content involves pornography and violence. (8) Books on medicine, science and engineering published ten years ago; computer books and travel guides published five years ago. (9) Religious and political publications with propaganda nature. (10) Those who do not conform to the collection principles of the library. |
| five. | The library has the right to decide on the preservation, collection, display, transfer, elimination or other processing methods of the donated books and periodicals, but those that are decided to be included in the library shall be handled according to the general books and periodicals of the library, and the deadline for processing and putting the donated materials on the shelves shall be in accordance with the progress of the editors of the library In principle, those who are recommended by readers and purchased by the library will be given priority, followed by donated books and periodicals. |
| six. | Donated books and periodicals will not be set up in a special room or shelf for display. |
| seven. | To thank the donors, the library prepares a special letter of thanks according to the wishes of the donors, and adds the name of the donator on the donated books and periodicals included in the collection of the library (those who do not want to be listed can expressly state). |
| eight. | This provision shall be promulgated and implemented after it is approved, and the same shall apply when it is revised. |
