Congenital disorders contain a variety of diseases involving single gene and chromosomal defects. Since establishing Taiwan’s first cytogenetic laboratory in 1981, our center has engaged in prenatal diagnosis with karyotyping for fetuses and adults. The Genetic Counseling Center endorsed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare opened in 1984 and has served as one of the most well regarded counseling and referral centers for inherited or congenital conditions. We aim to achieve early detection for genetics and chromosomal aberrations in order to facilitate prenatal diagnosis and excel in the field of eugenics.
