Establishment of the "Transcatheter Aortic Valve heart team".
2010:
-Approval from the Ministry of Health for conducting transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
-Adoption of the high implantation strategy, which results in the world's lowest rate of permanent pacemaker implantation after surgery.
2013:
-Performance of TAVI surgery using conscious sedation without intubation, shortening the operation time.
-The team was the first in Taiwan to use a subcutaneous puncture and vascular suturing device to reduce the size of the incision and minimize bleeding.
-Development of the innovative "double sheath connection technique" to reduce the risk of cerebral ischemia during TAVI surgery performed via the carotid artery.
2014:
The team demonstrated the TAVI procedure live at the annual meeting of the Taiwanese Society of Cardiology.
2017:
The team demonstrated the TAVI procedure live at the annual meeting of the Taiwan Society of Interventional Cardiology.
2018:
-The team demonstrated the TAVI procedure live at the annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Society of Cardiology.
-Performing TAVI surgery to rescue a septuagenarian woman from colon cancer was successful.
-Received the SNQ National Quality Award.
