Dr. Liu graduated from School of Medicine of at the National Defense Medical Center, Taipei, Taiwan (1997 – 2004). He received Psychiatry Residency Training Program at the Department of Psychiatry, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan (2004 – 2008). Dr. Liu then spent five years as an attending psychiatrist at the Department of Psychiatry, Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital, Kaohsiung, Taiwan (Pingtung branch, 2008 – 2012; and Kaohsiung head hospital, 2012 – 2013). From 2009 through 2013, Dr. Liu entered the PhD program at the Department of Medical Genetic, Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. He studied the PON1 genetic effect on microRNA binding ability and the risk of ischemic stroke and carotid atherosclerosis. He entered the PhD program (2013-2019) at the Institute of Brain Science, National Yang-Ming University, Taipei City, Taiwan. His thesis work was related to precision medicine in neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Liu’s main research interest is the application of molecular imaging to study the pathophysiology of neuropsychiatric diseases, such as geriatric depression and dementia.
