Heavy Ion Therapy Center

Taipei Veterans General Hospital's Heavy Ion Therapy Center provides the state-of-the-art cancer treatment with technologies from Japan such as the compact heavy ion accelerator and high-speed and high-precision scanning irradiation system.
After startup of treatment, we will provide patient-friendly cancer treatment at the facilities, adopting a universal design according to the policy of security and safety.

In order to build the first heavy ion cancer treatment center in Taiwan, the signing ceremony for the donation to Taipei Veterans General Hospital by Hung Kuo Group (宏國集團), Hung Tai Group (宏泰集團) and Dr. Samuel Yin (尹衍樑博士) was held on December 21st, 2015.

Our center is the first heavy ion therapy facility in Taiwan, and we conduct treatments with the latest scanning irradiation technologies in all the treatment rooms.

Groundbreaking Ceremony of Heavy Ion Therapy Center was held on January 14th, 2019.

The building is under construction by Ruentex Group (潤泰集團) with a period of 15 months.

It is expected to conduct clinical trials in the mid of 2021.
