Division of Hematology

The Division of Hematology provides expert management of patients with hematological malignancies and benign hematological disease. Taipei Veteran General Hospital is a recognized pioneer and leader in hematological cancer care in Taiwan. Taipei Veterans General Hospital is also one the most experienced stem cell transplant centers in Asia. In 1984, we performed the first allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant in Taiwan. Since then, we have completed more than 2500 stem cell transplants.

Our team includes seven seasoned hematologists, all of them serve as faculty at the School of Medicine, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. We also maintain our own hematology lab, to facilitate molecular and flow cytometric diagnosis. In addition, our hematologists collaborate with other experts to individualize patient care. Our multidisciplinary combined conference with radiation oncologist, hemapahtologist, and radiologists is held biweekly to make accurate diagnoses and to determine the best treatment plans for our patients.

Currently, we have 111 beds, including 8 HEPA-filtered transplant units. The hematologic diseases we treat include:
