Neurosurgery
Clinical Elective Program for International Medical Students
November 2015
Introduction |
The practices of Neurosurgery Department include general neurosurgery, functional neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and neural regeneration & repair. We have currently 18 neurosurgeons , 2 fellows, and 11 residents, and are the important site for neurosurgical internship and clerkship training in Taiwan. Other than traditional brain and spinal surgery, our neurological surgery system introduced gamma knife radiation surgical therapy, different from general craniotomy on skull base tumors and vascular malformation. We also provide technical epilepsy surgery against certain intractable epilepsy. In the neurological critical care room, we have an advanced monitoring system for patients undergoing critical brain surgeries and head traumas to pay attention to intracranial pressure and critical conditions of patients. The Neurological Regeneration Division offers the latest therapy to spinal cord trauma, brachial plexus injury and general calf nerve injury cases. |
