Introduction |
The Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Taipei Veterans General Hospital was founded in 1958. Currently, there are about 2,500 operations per year, including 700 colorectal cancers, 900 anal disease and some other diseases. The number of colonoscopy examination and procedures was around 10,000 every year. The case number and quality of care are at the forefront of patient care. We have 10 attending surgeons, 4 nurse practitioners, 3 case managers, 2 enterostomal therapists , along with trainees. We not only provide holistic care to our patients, but also comprehensive environment for clinical learning. In addition to clinical service and teaching, we also have advance in academic research and technique. In the Visiting Medical Student program, we offer students the clinical experience as members of a medical team and join the conferences highlighting new developments and trends in colon and rectal practice and research. |
