Clinical Elective program for International Medical Students

Introduction

The department of Infectious Disease in the Internal Medicine was established in 1959. There are 80 beds available. There are also eight attending physicians. We provide in patients and out patients for infection disease management and care. We also provide infection consultation for all in patients. Beside, we arrange antimicrobial stewardship program and nosocomial infection control. We also perform clinical study for variety infection disease.

Objective

  1. To understand the common disease diagnosis and treatment
  2. To learn how to take history, physical examination and medical record.
  3. To learn how to care infected patients

WEEK ONE

  1. Participate in resident work round and attending teaching/ management round, general infectious disease

  3. Visit the infection clinics

 

WEEK THREE

  1. Participate in resident work round and attending teaching/ management round, mainly in HIV/AIDS
  2. Attend infection meeting

 

WEEK FOUR

  1. Participate in resident work round and attending teaching/ management round, mainly in HIV/AIDS
  2. Attend infection meeting
  3. Visit the infection clinics (general infection disease)
