Introduction

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology was founded in 1958. There are 18 digestive disease specialists on stuff and 180 beds available, one of the largest groups in Taiwan. Gastroenterologists and hepatologists diagnose and treat disorders of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. VGHTPE resources include the latest in endoscopic equipment and techniques for the complexity of digestive diseases, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. On the other hand, advanced diagnostic or therapeutic ultrasound equipment was also available for chronic liver diseases. In the Visiting Medical Student program, we offer students the clinical experience as members of a medical team and the conferences highlighting new developments and trends in gastroenterology practice and research.

Objective

1. Learn and practice how to take integrated patient history, perform physical examinations, and further make tentative diagnosis and order further examination.
2. Know the indications and essential interpretations of  GI examinations.
3. Perform evidence-based practice

3. Visit the Gastroenterological clinics.

WEEK THREE

1. Participate in resident work rounds & attending teaching/management rounds.
2. Participate in Gastroenterological consultations with supervisors.
3. Visit the Gastroenterological clinics.
4. Attend the Gastroenterological meetings.
5. Visit Gastroenterological examination rooms (Sonography, Endoscopy, ERCP, EUS,etc.)

WEEK FOUR

1. Participate in resident work rounds & attending teaching/management rounds.
2. Participate in Gastroenterological consultations with supervisors.
3. Visit the Gastroenterological clinics.
4. Attend the Gastroenterological meetings.
5. Visit Gastroenterological examination rooms (Sonography, Endoscopy, ERCP, EUS,etc.)
6. Return monthly work and feedback.
