Introduction

The Department of Anesthesiology employs 152, including faculty, residents, fellows, nurses, and support staffs. Our department has four divisions, including General Anesthesia, Neuroanesthesia, Cardiothoracic Anesthesia, and Pediatric and Maternity Anesthesia, and a Pain Control Team, and unites all specialists in anesthesia, pain management, critical care, biomedical engineering, biostatistics and education within one fully integrated model of care to improve preanesthetic evaluation, diagnosis, medical management and quality of life for our patients. We take pride in both medical practice and robust scholarly endeavors. In addition to our monthly departmental grand round, our staffs engage in seminar, journal meetings, research meeting, simulation training for crisis management and transesophageal echocardiography, and M&M conferences. As a department in one of the largest and most advanced National Medical Centers in Taiwan, our department maintains a family atmosphere, hosting several social events including dinner and party to allow department members enjoyable and well attended throughout the year.

      Clinical activity:

5. Participates in the clinical practice of faculty, fellow, and resident anesthesiologists including anesthesia in and outside the operation theater
