Clinical Elective for Medical Students

Introduction
The division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology was founded in 1958. There are 18 digestive disease specialists on stuff and 180 beds available, one of the largest groups in Taiwan. Gastroenterologists and hepatologists diagnose and treat disorders of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. VGHTPE resources include the latest in endoscopic equipment and techniques for the complexity of digestive diseases, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography. On the other hand, advanced diagnostic or therapeutic ultrasound equipment was also available for chronic liver diseases. In the Visiting Medical Student program, we offer students the clinical experience as members of a medical team and the conferences highlighting new developments and trends in gastroenterology practice and research.
